Do You Know What Your ML Is Doing? (pdf, video)

How can we better control and understand how our machine-learned models are behaving for all inputs?  We'll discuss two strategies: shape constraints, which regularize functions to capture our prior semantic knowledge, and rate constraints, which let us impose policy goals like fairness and low-churn training on our models. We'll cover ideas, mathematical principles, and open source Tensor Flow code, with pointers to published papers and code for more details.
